Integrated Rice Complex Project - IRCP This project concept aims to establish a unique introduction of multi-dimensional, multi-faceted value addition to rice production and rice value chain. In a normal rice mill, rice is milled and processed by purchasing paddy from farmers. So, consistency of grain quality as well as food safety and traceability aspects are neglected.

RICE bran oil and cooking oil plants are planned to be built in Paungde and Myaungmya, according to the Myanmar Rice Federation. Led by MRF, Myanmar’s first rice bran oil and cooking oil factory project was initiat­ed in Nay Pyi Taw, Pyinmana Township, last February at the MAPCO rice mill com­pound.

Myanmar builds first rice bran oil plant to boost local oil

Under the guidance of the union government and Myanmar Rice Federation, MRBO has been building a 200-ton crude rice bran oil plant, along with a 50-tonne oil refinery since February this year. The plant will have the capacity to produce 90,000 tonnes of crude oil and 6,300 tonnes of refined oil annually, the company said.

Under the leadership of the Myanmar Rice Federation, Myanmar's first rice bran oil and refined oil plant was implemented at the MAPCO rice mill in Pyinmana Township, Naypyidaw in February 2024. At present, the construction works are continuing and the works to import the equipment are also underway process.

The 200-tonne crude oil plant and 50-tonne refinery, under MRBO and government guidance, will produce 90,000 tonnes of crude and 6,300 tonnes of refined oil annually. Set to begin operations in early 2025, the plant aims for self-sufficiency, export potential, and local job creation.
