The DRC has proven reserves of 180 million barrels, though estimates of total petroleum reserves exceed 5 billion barrels. Currently, Congolese oil production is limited to the Coast Basin, yielding 25,000 barrels per day of offshore production, all of which are exported.

The production of palm oil in DRC is primarily targeted at satisfying the local demand for this commodity. In 2022, palm oil consumption in DRC was estimated at 425,000 metric tons [ 70 ], while production is currently estimated at 300,000 metric tons [ 71 ].
In 2023, PHC’s crude palm oil production reached 90,000 tonnes per year on 107,000 hectares (264,000 acres) of concessions. The company plans to increase production capacity to two million tonnes by 2032, to saturate demand and export.
